The joys of Spring! Sort of...

Despite the fun we are currently having with the weather here, Jer and I realized it was time to start taking care of the yard. With a lawn to mow, a garden to plow, and trees that need trimming, we are set to have busy weekends for the rest of the summer. Whenever that gets here. It isn't as bad as I remember it, mowing the lawn and such. Our yard isn't that big so that helps, and my wife actually likes to run the lawnmower so that's nice too. I got to operate the tiller last Saturday, which I can't remember how long ago it was that I last did that. We ended up planting some peas (yuck) and carrots. It's fun to think that we will have our own garden going in a little while. Fun, until I have to start weeding it all anyway. And assuming the weather decides to let winter go away. I hate it when it's like this, I want summer! I can't wait for outdoor volleyball to start up either. I better not have to end up playing in a sweater because that's not right.

On Monday we tackled pruning the trees. We realized that what we trim we do not have to pick, so that provided a good game plan for us as we started our work. Here are some pics of us trimming the fruit trees...

Yes, I am wearing my pajamas. :)

Jer took care of all the lower branches.

Monday night Jer had another soccer game, and this time I will post a few picures I took. I like going to the games and watching her play. I just take my ipod along and take pictures for the 50 minutes we're there.

Jer on offense, she is about to bounce it off the wall to go around the girl defending her. I found that to be a fun part of indoor soccer, using the walls.

Jer playing defense.

Other than that, we haven't been up to much. I start my new job on Monday, that'll will be pretty weird. I'm excited for it though. And we're excited for the Jazz! Okay, maybe more me than her, but we like to watch the games together. Hopefully I can watch the game tonight, we'll see if my Youth activity will happen or not. I doubt the kids will enjoy playing steal the flag in 30 degree temperature...

We know all too well the joys of yard work... EVERy weekend in the summer. For real. It's kind of a pian, but there is a weird satisfaction that you feel when your yard looks so nice. What is your new job? I must have missed that post or something.
