Party!!!

On May 31st my work threw it's annual summer party. Jer and I decided to go and check it out, sounded like it could be a good way to kill an afternoon. We didn't expect to stay long though, just long enough to eat lunch and to get our share of the free cotton candy and snow cones. :) Turns out L-3 can throw a pretty fun party. We stayed from noon until it ended just after 3. Which meant that we had a good time, but also meant we got some pretty good tan lines. Okay, burn lines.

After we got home from the party I drove up to Layton to help Blake and Monica move into their new house, Jer was worn out so she stayed home with the puppies. Talk about a long day! I think I got home some time after 10 that night. It was fun though. On Sunday we ended up going over to my parent's place for dinner, and you can see that all the activities from the day before finally caught up with me...

Here's a shot of the Shark slide, that I was really tempted to go on! They had all kinds of slides there, and games to play. Oh, and face painting. Unfortunately, every time I wanted to have my face done there were too many kids having it done.

Jer standing at the entrance to the party at the fair park.

Me and my lunch, the pulled pork sandwich was tasty. As was my Coke.

Jer fixing her snow cone. They gave us a cup of shaved ice and then we got to put on the flavoring at one of these little stations. Sadly, when we came back for more at the end of the party it was closed! Next year we are making sure to get our fill of snow cones.

We decided to try out some of the carnival games they had set up. For this one Jer is trying to get the ball to land in the middle of the board. She missed but got a sucker for her efforts.

This game was apparently the big game of the day, it took us forever to get through the line to play! You roll 6 balls and try to get your score to be either over 30 or under 11. I was this close to getting Jer a stuffed animal, guess we'll have to go to Lagoon for that.

At 2 they had a show for us of Polynesian dancers (that was the theme of the party). It was a good show and we got to see a bunch of different types of dances from the islands.

This dance was one of war dances, the Haka. If you look real close you can see the guy sticking out his tongue and trying to look scary. It's the same type of dance the BYU football players do before they start a game.

Blue dart! Okay, not really but I thought this was a funny shot of the guy doing his fire baton dance.

And finally, me curled up on the little couch at my parent's house after dinner the next day.

Looks fun. I am disappointed you didn't do the shark slide. Was everything free, or did you have to pay to play the games and get the food? Cool work party.

That looks like a fun party! A couple of things: Jer, your hair is cute. BJ, she doesn't need any more stuffed animals. And I didn't know BYU's team did the Haka before their games? Do they have a player from NZ? Kama te kama te kora kora.

We didn't have to pay for anything. It was really nice. They gave us each a punch card for snow cones, cotton candy, and drinks. And we got lunch. Mmmm

Thanks Joni. My hair is due for another cut though. It was fun watching the Haka, it reminded me of you singing the Haka at Christmas. And we watched the ladies fling the poi balls around too.

HAHAHAHA BLUE DART!!! HAHAHAHAHA

Ok I am immature and thought that was so funny. Glad you had a nice party. It looks like a dream land for my boys. We went to a stake party like that for Jill's stake. It was really fun.
Jer your hair is way cute! And I agree, she does NOT need any more stuffed (or real) animals. BUT I would love to go to Lagoon with you when we are there in July.

Oh, and thanks BJ for the computer tips. I will have to bring my computer to UT and you can help me clean it out. I did a couple things and it seemed to be a bit faster.
